FLEX-GUARD BRUSH SEALS

Flex-Guard ^® flexible custom brush seals are  the result of Memtech’s many years of Brush Seals and Weather Seals brush technology. Our earliest brush seal efforts began as experimental work in alternative oil seals for the automotive industry. We later found a serious need for industrial brush door seals as factory and office energy conservation and as a weather seal in pest control for food processing plants and warehouses. Flex-guard continues to provide high quality brush seals that will fit every industrial brush seal need and will always either meet or exceed expectations

When we entered into brush seals for machine and tool applications, we saw a need for a completely separate branch of the business. We named it Flex-Guard. Though brush is one of the oldest ‘technologies’, it has a rather amazing facility to solve problems that no other material will.

There is nothing we know of, that can seal tightly over irregular surfaces, stay completely flexible and yet remain more durable and versatile. The latter feature refers to the fact that brush’s component can be any of dozens of diverse materials, depending on the requirements; such as anti-static brass, corrosion-resistant stainless steel and several compounds of plastic. In glass enclosed revolving doors, for instance, the only material that would not scratch the glass in extended use, was horsehair! No semi-rigid seals could solve that enigma – only brushes.

Flex-guard and our customers have developed many effective and easy ways to utilize FLEX-GUARD flexible brush products.

We maintain an inventory of a broad range of brush and mounting sizes and styles with varying lengths and stiffness of nylon and polypropylene bristles. These stock products are available in six and twelve foot lengths and can easily be cut to length as needed. In addition, Flex-guard can bend or form these standard brushes into the special shapes you need for the application and we can make internal and external rings and coils and provide special trim shapes if needed. When quantities get large enough for a special manufacturing setup, considerable cost savings and even more design flexibility is possible. Flex-guard has eight sizes of stock brushes from as small as 1/10 inch (.010") wide and 1/2" (.500") wide and 20" high. With more than 20 bristle trim lengths, we can provide the best standard brush to effectively and economically solve your application need. If we don't have a stock product suited to your requirement, Flex-guard has the capability to manufacture exactly the right FLEX-GUARD brushes for the job.
